Summer tomatoes will be soon gone so don’t miss the opportunity to create your stash for fall/winter soups. Water bath canning is an excellent way to preserve your garden’s harvest and/or farmer’s market tomato bounty. Join us for an afternoon of hands on learning and great conversation as we preserve some amazing varieties to use beyond summer.

During the class, participants will learn:

  • Safe water bath canning techniques

  • How to select the best tomatoes for canning

  • Proper storage methods

  • Equipment required and sourcing

  • Troubleshooting procedures

Each participants will take home:

  • One 16oz jar of canned tomatoes

  • Judith’s 9-page instructional booklet on everything you need to know about canning tomatoes,

  • An equipment list

  • Delicious recipes for your canned tomatoes!

Judith Yisrael. is co-founder of The Yisrael Family Urban Farm. Her handmade soaps and other skin care products are sold at retail outlets in Sacramento. She, along with her husband, own and operate The Yisrael Family Urban Farm where she teaches herbalism, cooking & canning classes, and other homesteading skills for over five years. Judith is a community educator, member of the the American Herbalist Guild, and student at The Herbal Academy.
