Tour Information

Tours are a great way for you to get to know us and what we do at The Yisrael Family Farm. We will show you around, treat you with in-season fruit or vegetables from our homestead and answer question you may have about homesteading or how you can learn to grow your own food. Tours are open to anyone and is an excellent idea for a family outing (children are always welcomed). Our warm and friendly service as well as educational activities makes our farm tour ideal for families, business meetings, and school outings.

We stay busy so we ask that you register and make an appointment. This is an experience you will remember for years to come...

During the tour, we can show you how to convert your space into a sustainable home of the future, no matter the size. In addition, you will have the opportunity to:

1. Harvest and purchase our seasonal produce.

2. Learn:

  • How to turn your kitchen scraps into compost
  • Building a raised garden bed
  • Keeping backyard chickens
  • How to maximize your garden space

3. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy in the garden.

The general tour lasts about 60 minutes, but can vary depending on the size of your group and the customization of your tour. This tour is a very valuable learning experience for all who visit. Looking forward to sharing with you!

Please sign print, sign and bring the liability waiver with you.  We will ask for it when you arrive.

This season we will begin to offer hands-on, guided tours for students of all ages. The students learn:

The importance of good soil, beneficial insects, and the importance of companion planting: Did you know that carrots love tomatoes? Students also will learn where their food comes from. To make sure the tour meets your needs, we did our homework and consulted with teachers. The result is an interactive, activity-driven tour that does the following:

  • Meets and reinforces common core standards while making learning about nature fun
  • Works with your existing curriculum to bring classroom lessons to life
  •  Enjoying the sights, sounds, smells, and touch of the farm is a sensory experience!
